I've worked in tech as a FinTech Data scientist since April 2019. I started at Citi in the spring of that year during the MVP stages of a chatbot named COVA that was in development. COVA grew up to me like Cynthia, the ideal call representative in an overwhelmed yet high-in-demand customer call center. After several sprints in production, the containment rates surpassed 91%, and the previously low intelligence optimization metrics soared beyond the baseline toward the level of intelligence comparable to a human expert (you guessed it, Cynthia). As a data scientist, I focused mostly on BERT Transformer architectures, GENAI (e.g., Seq2Seq, LLM, VEctor DB), and utilizing these tools and architectures to automate human-to-human conversation.
